Located on the island of Veligandu in the North Ari Atoll, the Veligandu Island Resort and Spa sits amidst stretches of powdery, white sands encroached by an expansive blue lagoon. The tropical decor of the various water villas grants the resort an authentic sense of paradise, offering guests plenty of space and privacy in the comforts of the island. All guest types can enjoy the exotic atmosphere of the complex, and make the most of the surroundings and facilities.
The complex is situated 20 minutes (sea transfer) from Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.
ACCOMMODATION
Each room features tropical décor, a king size bed, wood floors, private patio or sundeck with furniture, air-conditioning, overhead ceiling fan, sitting area with DVD Player, broadband Internet connection, stocked Mini Bar with refrigerator, tea/coffee/espresso machine, IDD telephone, cable TV, personal safe, spacious bathroom with shower, double sinks, bath accessories, hairdryer, nightly turndown service and complimentary use of chaise lounges at the beach and beach towels. Jacuzzi Water Villas
Secluded and spacious hideaways, located over-the-water in the lagoon, a short walk along a private jetty from the main island. They feature a partial open air bathroom, an outdoor Jacuzzi and stairs into the sea.
Water Villas
Similar to the Jacuzzi Water Villas but a little smaller, with an indoor (rather than partially open-air) bathroom and whirlpool bathtub instead of a Jacuzzi.
Jacuzzi Beach Villas
Offering the same facilities as the Jacuzzi Water Villas, but located on the beach rather than over the lagoon. There are no interconnecting rooms available.
Activities
Beautiful white sand beaches, a magnificent lagoon and an excellent house reef for snorkelling are just the beginning of the resort's excellent leisure facilities.
Also available for the use of guests looking for activity on the island are: a sparkling clear freshwater swimming pool overlooking the beach with a children's wading pool, beach volleyball, badminton, table tennis, billiards, darts and guest vs. staff football matches and a modern fitness centre.
Veligandu only offers non-motorized water sports, including catamaran sailing, kayak, windsurfing and hydro bike. Fishing excursions including morning, sunset and deep sea trips can be arranged.
Facilities
Board games such as chess, checkers, Scrabble and caramboard are available at reception. An internet café is available for email and web browsing, with wireless access in the public areas. The resort also offers a lending library where you can take or donate a book.
Excursions
A variety of guided excursions can be arranged at an additional cost including snorkeling, love boat daysail, island hopping, Robinson Crusoe daytrips, sightseeing to Rasdhoo Island, sunset cruises and more.

Diving
With an Ocean-Pro Dive Centre on site, divers can enjoy the variety of 20 local dive sites, suitable for beginners to more experienced divers. The sites include thrilling thilas, outside reef sites and channel dives. With only one other resort nearby, Ocean-Pro divers will generally have the luxury of being the only divers on site!
While there is no specific manta season, there is usually a higher concentration of mantas in the months of December and March. White tip reef sharks can be seen on almost every dive, and the sighting of grown black tips is common.
Experienced divers can dive the house reef independently in buddy teams, while guided dives are available on request. The west, south and east sides of the house reef each offer an entry point with the chance to see many different varieties of marine life.
Spa
